Each vacuum chuck is CNC machined from solid 6061 aircraft-grade aluminum, delivering precision, strength, and long-term durability. A heavy-duty rubber sealing surface creates an excellent vacuum seal while protecting your workpiece during bottom finishing.

This vacuum chuck is ideal for:

How to Use This Wood Lathe Vacuum Chuck

  1. Thread the vacuum chuck onto the lathe spindle.
    Make sure it seats fully against the spindle shoulder.

  2. Connect your vacuum supply.
    Using a 3/8" ID plastic hose, connect your vacuum pump to the 3/8" OD steel tube that passes through the headstock from the chuck.

  3. Position your turning on the chuck.
    Center the bowl or project against the rubber seal.

  4. Turn on the vacuum and begin finishing.
    For best stability, keep the tailstock engaged as long as possible. This provides additional support while you safely complete the bottom of your turning.

  5. Smile.
    You now have a simple, reliable way to finish your turnings with confidence.

Important Design Note

A vacuum swivel is NOT required with this vacuum chuck. The internal steel tube is mounted in a bearing, allowing the chuck to rotate while the vacuum line remains stationary. This design reduces setup complexity and improves reliability.

Special Note for Laguna 18|36 Lathes

A spindle washer & longer tube length is required for this lathe to allow the chuck to fully thread on and seat securely against the spindle shoulder.

    • ALL orders shipped through the USPS are not guaranteed to be delivered within the window that they promise. The USPS does not offer guaranteed delivery on Priority Mail packages, so we will not issue postage/shipping refunds if they do not deliver on time.     • International orders: Shipping cost will be calculated during checkout and will NOT include your local duty and/or customs fees. If you choose UPS, they will not deliver until these duty/taxes are paid.
